A Taste of Albuquerque
Friday, August 25th, 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Civic Plaza, Albuquerque Convention Center
Albuquerque is home to one of America’s most unique and cherished regional cuisines, so it’s no surprise that food is one of the things that people remember most about a trip to New Mexico – some people say they moved here just to be closer to the source!
New Mexican cuisine is based on native ingredients like corn, beans, squash and chiles, and incorporates Mexican, Native American and Spanish flavors – but chile is always the most important element. In fact, our official state question is “Red or green?” and both types of chile can be instantly addictive, bringing visitors back year after year.
Beyond New Mexican cuisine, Albuquerque dining has a rich and diverse culinary scene, filled with Albuquerque restaurants including sushi bars, pizzerias, Mexican taquerias and cutting edge fine-dining restaurants. Attendees will immerse themselves in the wonderful food, award-winning wines and brews under the stars.
SYTA Dine Around
Saturday, August 27th, 7:00pm – 11:00pm
Take advantage of this open night to experience the “Albuquerque Food Scene” with customers, colleagues and friends! This the only open evening where there is not a planned conference event. Please note: SYTA does not coordinate the Dine Around evening.
Conference attendees will connect with each other either in advance or on-site and select a restaurant! You can plan ahead by visiting the Visit Albuquerque website. Many of the restaurants are located in Albuquerque’s trendy neighborhoods and are a quick cab ride from the conference hotels.
For groups of 10 or more planning their evening, we recommend that you contact Sally Lane with Destination Southwest. Sally and her staff are available to make recommendations for large groups and/or private parties as well as coordinate group transportation. Click here for a list of suggested restaurants.
